HISTORY OF OUR CHURCH
The United Presbyterian Church of Montague County is the combination of the First Presbyterian Church of Bowie, the First Presbyterian Church of Nocona and the Presbyterian Church of Saint Jo.
There is a rich history on the founding of the Presbyterian Church in Montague County.
The current building was completed and dedicated in 1964, located on West Nelson St in Bowie. The bell tower holds the bell from the previous church structure in Bowie and can be heard rining out the call to service at 10.45am each Sunday.
The original pulpit and sanctuary chairs from the Saint Jo congregation, a gift from the New York congregation, are now displayed at the United Presbyterian Church of Montague County.
